Introduction
Dimensions are set up on Assets for cost analysis purposes.
- Prerequisite
You have created Assets.

Maintenance Manager
When you have created an Asset, you can set up the dimensions you want to use to track costs on the Asset.
- On an Asset List, select and open an Asset Card.
- On the Asset Card, select Related > Dimensions.
- In the Default Dimensions pop-up, select New to create a new dimension and make your selections as you require.

Set Up Default Dimension for new Assets
Data Requirements
- Asset Management Setup exists.
- At least one dimension exists.
Steps

Select the magnifier in the corner.
Enter 'Asset Management Setup' in this window.
Select Asset Management visible in Go to Pages and Tasks area.
Find Asset Dimension in General FastTab.
Select the arrow in Asset Dimension field.
Select a dimension from the list.
Go back.
Expected
The user can set up the default Dimension for each new Asset.
Adding Dimension to Asset
Data Requirements
- At least one Asset exists.
- At least one Dimension Code exists (with Dimension Value Code and Value Posting).
Go to Assets > Assets.
Select an Asset from a list by clicking on its Nos.
Be sure that in the ribbon more options are shown - Fewer options button is visible.
If not - select More Options.
Select Related.
Select Dimensions.
Select New in the ribbon.
Select the arrow in Dimension Code field.
Select one from the list.
Select Dimension Value Code field in the same row.
Select one from the list.
Select Value Posting field in the same row.
Select one from the list.
Expected
The user can set up a Dimension for the Asset.
Removing Dimension from Asset
Data Requirements
- At least one Asset with Dimension exists.
Steps

Go to Assets > Assets.
Select an Asset from a list by clicking on its Nos.
Be sure that in the ribbon more options are shown - Fewer options button is visible.
If not - click on More Options.
Select Related.
Select Dimensions.
Highlight the Dimension to be deleted.
Select Delete.
Select Yes.
Expected
The user can delete a Dimension from the Asset.
Copying Asset with Dimensions
Data Requirements
- At least one Asset with Dimensions exists.
Steps

Go to Assets > Assets.
Select an Asset from a list by clicking on its Nos.
Be sure that in the ribbon more options are shown - Fewer options button is visible.
If not - select More Options.
Select Actions.
Select Copy Asset.
Be sure that Extended FastTab is expanded. If not - select Expanded.
Select the Dimensions check box.
Set up other options, if required, and select OK.
Expected
The user can copy an Asset with all its Dimensions.
